Eve
I watched a programme about Birth in medieval times http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b03czjbq
Got me thinking about original sin although this concept, a painful and volatile concept. I am collecting some ideas around it in this post.

"Men have always been afraid that women could get along without them."
- The Lord God said to the serpent, Because you have done this, cursed are you among all animals and among all wild creatures; upon your belly you shall go, and dust you shall eat all the days of your life. I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.” To the woman he said, I will greatly increase your pangs in childbearing; in pain you shall bring forth children, yet your desire shall be for your husband, and he shall rule over you.” And to the man he said, Because you have listened to the voice of your wife, and have eaten of the tree about which I commanded you, You shall not eat of it, cursed is the ground because of you; in toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life; thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you; and you shall eat the plants of the field. By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”
(Genesis 3:14-19)
I think this might have something to do with a difference in men and women. Just my opinions but I've read things to suggest that men handle emotions differently to women. Through my experience I consider this to be the case. Of course I'm generalizing quite a bit because everyone is an individual as well. But we all share similar instincts and a blueprint as human beings.
This article is interesting because it describes how breakups can hit men very commonly a bit harder than women.

Men and Vulnerability
Good article and men's emotions. I read that often men are bought up to repress their emotions and often it is mistaken they don't have any. And this can manifest in volatile expressions, violence and depression.

This leads me to Eve
Women have been suppressed and treated,.... well.. I'm not going to attempt to define it
I'm thinking could the original sin idea be something to do with a way to control women's general nature if there is one. ?
I think if women have a common nature its to do with creation, nurturing and fostering relationships and were men made originally to provide for and support the family ? I do believe this is an old instinct in us that drives us all in one way or another.
So many Nurture v's Nature debates. Involving, stereotypes, religion, so many aspects I respect diversity and individuality I just believe there are some common primeval instincts at work.
